Koscom won a contract to establish an advanced ledger system for Dongbu Securities

Koscom, a leading IT solution provider in the financial investment industry, said that it has won a contract with Dongbu Securities(CEO Kim Ho-Jung) to establish an advanced ledger system and had a briefing about its embarkation on the system development.

The project represents the Dongbu Securities' ambitious plan for building an independent system to strengthen business competitiveness in keeping with the new environment of capital market. Dongbu Securities received proposals for the project from Koscom, Samsung SDS, LG CNS and SK C&C last year and selected Koscom as its final developer of the ledger system in December.

Along with Dongbu CNI Co., Ltd., a firm specialized in IT sector of Dongbu Group, Koscom is planning to establish various infrastructure such as core-banking and non-core banking by May 2010 based on the PowerBase, a next generation ledger management solution.

Shin, Seung Hwan, head of strategic business unit of Koscom, stated, "At a corporate level, all technologies will be mobilized to successfully carry out the project. And we will do our best to make the system firmly placed as a new model in building a next generation system for securities firms by completing the development of the ledger system for a short period of 11 months, which is based on the core-banking system scheduled to be operated in early February of 2011."
