Koscom successfully launched EXTURE, KRX's new trading system

Koscom(CEO Kim, Kwang Hyun), who has been in charge of the IT infrastructure of Korean capital market since its establishment, announced that it successfully launched EXTURE, KRX's new trading system, on March 23 after 21 months of development.

EXTURE was unprecedently big project to develop an unified trading system for three different markets, KOSPI, KOSDAQ, and Derivatives. Before EXTURE, KRX has operated 3 different trading systems for 3 different markets.
Koscom has developed and verified the technical structure of the EXTURE for 9 months since June 2007.
Koscom has also performed many tests by about 20,000 types of unit/integration scenarios, and has secured the stability of the system through verification linked with 72 financial investment firms, Korea Securities Depository, and banks.

EXTURE has been developed after being divided into 9 parts (which are channel service, matching engines, trading supports, liquidation approvals, Reference Data Service, User Interface, common technology, market infrastructure, and Disaster Recovery) and has grafted state-of-the-art technology. Belows are expected efforts to both foreign and domestic capital markets and market participants.

① Lowered IT cost by implementing single platform and architecture in open environment.

② Developed market access for the market participants by doubling the processing capacity(40 million cases), improving the latency more than 5 times(less than 0.08 second), unifying transaction specification, and implementing FIX protocol.

③ Enhanced ability to cope with the industry's environmental changes by increasing flexibility and reusability of the system with the application of new technologies such as framwork, RDS, and so on.

④ Established firm foothold to export capital market IT solutions to the overseas markets such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Mongolia, and Laos by implementing open platform and multi-market supporting system.
