Koscom won PKI Best Practice Award

Koscom announced on the 12th of March that Koscom won 'Asia PKI Best Practice Award' at Asia PKI Forum in Beihai, China.

For the first time this year, the award was given by Asia PKI Forum to the winner whose research was selected as an excellent case among PKI applied exemplary cases over Asia.

Last year, Koscom showed Asia PKI Forum some cases of cyber stock trading with implementing its PKI technology.

On the contrary, in 2002, Koscom applied the digital certificate technology to Korea On-line E-Procurement System and the electronic tax report system of National Tax Service for the first time in Korea in the year of appointment as a designated certificate authority.

Moreover, Koscom have already made certificate services available to 31 securities groups and is now expecting to provide digital certificates to Nonghyup, Kookmin, and Shinhan Bank.

Lee, Jong Kyu, CEO of Koscom said, "This award brought us a good opportunity that we could push into the global market with our officially acknowledged PKI technology." And he added, "I expect Koscom's cases will be influential in many foreign countries."

PKI(Public Key Infrastructure)

The term PKI is generally used for base technology which focuses on public key cryptographic algorithm that is the key factor of the digital certificate.

Koscom designs and operates certificate systems with the foundation of base technology in order to promote SignKorea and is the board member of Korea PKI Forum for enhancing Korea’s digital certificate industry.
