Koscom obtained a patent for security USB

Koscom(CEO Kim, Kwang Hyun), the largest certificate authority in Korea, obtained a patent on Aug. 3 from the KIPO(Korean Intellectual Property Office) for  SecuYouSB, a security USB system jointly developed with BIZET Inc.(CEO Jang Geun).

The SecuYouSB, released in September 2007, has been already accredited by the NIS(National Intelligence Service) for its security suitability. It also has CC(Common Criteria) and GS(Good Software) certifications which are approved by the NIS and  TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association) respectively. Furthermore, the SecuYouSB was registered on the list of the government's perjurement items. And the excellence of the product was highlighted with the recent acquisition of a patent.

The SecuYouSB has three layer structure; server, agent and security USB. And it was reflected the request of the NIS such as user identification and accreditation, encryption and decryption of the designated file, prevention of unauthorized reproduction of the stored data and remote control elimination of data in case of missing. Recognizing the excellent feature of the product, Koscom is rolling out an aggressive sales marketing targeting government and public agencies in which the introduction of security USB system is mandatory.

"The CC and GS certification, procurement registration and even the patent acquisition of the SecuYouSB, which is introduced by the MOPAS(Ministry of Public Administration and Security of Korea) at a corporate level, represents a Koscom's proved solution technology preventing information outflow from storage media. The patent is expected to give great momentum for us to promote security USB. As  public institutions and the financial industry are in the midst of introducing the system." said Kim, Gwang Yeoul, manager of Information Security Business Dept.

He also added that, "As the number of smarthphone users are increasing sharply,  the prevention of information leakage from smartphones will emerge as a bing issue. Considering the strong function of the SecuYouSB, it has a competitive advantage. And it will be very appealing to customers thinking about adopting mobile Office.

※ GS(Good Software) Certification:
It is a certificate accrediting an excellent quality of software which functions well in various computing environments. It is approved by the TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association), a certificate authority. And the GS certified product is designated as a priority purchase for public institutions, enabling the third party contract through the PPS(Public Procurement Service). (The End)
